Dee Williams walks into the living room, where her stepdaughter Natalie Knight sits on the couch. In her hands Dee holds a crumpled up piece of paper. Natalie! Dee says crossly. What? Natalie asks in an annoyed tone, looking up at Dee.

'I found your REPORT CARD crumpled up in your wastebasket!' Dee says, holding out the piece of paper for Natalie to look at. Natalie is failing ALL of her classes!, Dee adds, outraged. Ok, and...? Natalie asks. 'AND?! You're graduating high school in two months!!
